Another Filming Day

We have now reached our second day of filming and this time we were definitely ready to film and get more than one scene finished. The last time we filmed we encountered many issues that disrupted with our filming process, one of the major issues was the fact that the mall had closed before we were able to complete any other scenes. We did manage to get a few seconds of one but it was nearly enough for us to progress thoroughly with our production process and we needed to overcome this issue immediately. We all planned to meet up at an earlier time, this time we actually checked what time the mall was going to close so with that information we estimated the amount of time we would need to film our scenes before the mall closes. We also picked a different day from what we had picked last time just to see if the crowd levels in the mall may be less overwhelming than the day we had picked, which was also a problem we were met with the last time we filmed. The less people in the mall, the better because there wouldn’t be any outside disturbances while we film and we wouldn’t have to deal with most of our footage being bloopers and takes we can’t use in our final product. Everyone arrived as according to our planned arrival date but we were definitely behind since there was traffic which made some of our group members arrive late. Due to this we had less time than we had anticipated, we tried to transition as swiftly and quickly as possible to get us ready and set up to film. Luckily with how prepared everyone was we managed to get a good start on filming. We wanted to film the scenes that we were unable to film last time, then go over and rerecord some scenes since we had made some adjustments to the script which changed some dialogue or actions that we had initially recorded. After revisions were done our group members did their best to remember their lines and this definitely came handy because we were able to get a lot of footage without awkward pauses on what to say next, it also helped because we’d know exactly what to do once the next scene was needed to be recorded. Our plan to change the day we filmed was very big success on our part, because as theorized there were definitely less people than the last time we filmed which played a huge part as to how we managed to film so many scenes successfully. With this, we managed to film 3 scenes in total before we took a short break and decided that now would be the best time to film the revisions, we didn’t have much time left since we spent a huge chunk of our time filming those other scenes but as we looked over the revised script we wanted to try our best and rerecord those scenes because we want to follow the script as accurately as possible. Unfortunately, we only managed to record very little before our time finally ran out and we had to leave the mall again due to closing. Although we couldn’t take care of the revisions like we wanted to, we plan to have another filming day to take care of those so we tried not to worry too much about it. On the bright side, a lot of progress was made! and were finally reaching the editing process of production. Hopefully by the next production blog we will have a lot more finished and we can finally get the filming process out of the way.
