Planning for my Music Video


 Song Title: After the Storm - Kali Uchis 

Props: 

For the Music Video, The props I will most likely use are Journals and other stationery to bring together some of the scenes, as well as food and drinks.

Costumes:

For Costumes, I will wear a nice and pretty outfit, that has the aesthetic of the clothing from the original music video (Vintage dresses, Curly Hair, Etc.) There will be a variety of outfits that will be shown in the Music Video

Schedule:

On 11/12/2021 I researched convention and codes for my Music Video

On 11/16/2021 I established the Props, Costumes, Schedule, Location list, and backup plan

On 11/19/2021 I will create the Storyboard for my Music Video

On 11/29/2021 through 12/10/2021 I will work on completing four Production blogs

On 12/13/2021 The Music Video will be turned in

On 12/17/2021 We will work on our Critical Reflection Questions

Location List:

My main location will be in my bedroom, since there wont be much movement in the Video itself I will get creative with the scenes filmed in this location

My Second and Third location is my Living room and Backyard/Patio to convey the message in a metaphorical way “After The Storm” “Flowers Bloom”

Backup Plan:

If it rains outside for the scenes that require me to be outside I will attempt to make new panels in the storyboard to fit in with the new location that will be away from the rain, If I get sick I will get a friend to take my place in the Music Video while I take the time to film them and such.

Final Day of Filming for my Music Video

On the second day of filming, I finished filming all of the storyboard panels for my music video. I have to say that it was not an easy task. I had a lot of time to myself, so I decided to use that time to actually finish everything, but it wasn't easy because it felt like a time crunch even though I was free to do whatever I wanted. There were still a lot of scenes to finish from where I had left off, and I had to refilm some of them because the clips were too blurry for the final product. I also recorded scenes that I would edit into the music video to give it more personality and easter eggs, which sort of fits the theme of my music video anyway. It was also difficult to change costumes because I play both characters and edit myself into it. It's a difficult task, but it's not impossible.   - What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? The opening sequence has one title card that starts with the name of the movie, starting off from white to red   - What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? One image that gets prioritized heavily is the phone of Casey Becker. Another thing that gets prioritized is the house such as the doors, the kitchen, the stove. - What connotations do these images carry? The phone shows a mysterious voice that keeps on dialing her. The stranger continuously asks odd questions that begin to get intimidating. The movie uses the phone as a way to scare the viewer as the ringing continues.  For my Commerical Project, I will work alone. I think its the best way to go for me because I'm not really trusting of other people because I have no actual clue if they'll do the work or not and in the past I've had lots of issues with people not completing what they're supposed to be doing even with my friends. I can't really rely on others so that's why I'm holding full responsibility for this project. Working alone isn't terrible either, on the bright side I won't have to nudge people into doing their work until they get annoyed with me because I hate being a bother to others as well. Being independent also means this project will be my own unique thoughts without interference. I like working out ideas by myself although critique is necessary I want this project to be my own authentic piece and my own authentic ideas. Having other people's ideas doesn't really make this my own and I may not like what others come up with so I trust myself...
