Introduction to the Music Video


 Hello! It’s Jennifer again and I am here to introduce myself once more. I am a Sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High school and I have recently turned 16 years old in September. I live and was born here in Florida but my Parents originated from El Salvador. I have 3 siblings here in Florida but I have a lot more family in El Salvador. I have 2 older brothers and 1 younger brother, they mean a lot to me and they are like my best friends. I also have a cat named Don Gato, he is an orange stray that we took in as a part of our family and he means the world to me. I also have 3 other cats who live with my older brothers and they were also stray. Their names are P-Chan, Chiki, Huevito. One is a girl and two of them are boys. My favorite music artists currently are Kali uchis, Tyler the Creator, Devi McCallion, Azealia Banks, Girls love Shoes, Beabadoobee, The Millionares and Many others. I have a wide variety of music taste you can say I listen to almost everything and yes that probably includes country! I love all music and it really defines me as a person and it’s an easy way for me to express myself through music I enjoy listening to. Another way I express myself is by doodling and drawing things I like, I used to be a lot more serious about art but I have lost a little bit of my interest in it. Although I still thoroughly enjoy it I began to focus on editing a lot more which is another way I like to express myself and It has been something for a few years now. With these hobbies and interests combined it really shapes how I can work through these media studies assignments alone swiftly. I am very introverted but I don’t find that to be a bad thing, being on my own helps me focus on myself and it helps me become a better person each and everyday. I feel that I am very unique and I really love expressing myself in that way as well. I think everyone should do that as well. I hope this Music Video project will be just as fun as the Commercial one! I am very excited to begin this project and I hope I do well.

Final Day of Filming for my Music Video

On the second day of filming, I finished filming all of the storyboard panels for my music video. I have to say that it was not an easy task. I had a lot of time to myself, so I decided to use that time to actually finish everything, but it wasn't easy because it felt like a time crunch even though I was free to do whatever I wanted. There were still a lot of scenes to finish from where I had left off, and I had to refilm some of them because the clips were too blurry for the final product. I also recorded scenes that I would edit into the music video to give it more personality and easter eggs, which sort of fits the theme of my music video anyway. It was also difficult to change costumes because I play both characters and edit myself into it. It's a difficult task, but it's not impossible.   - What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? The opening sequence has one title card that starts with the name of the movie, starting off from white to red   - What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? One image that gets prioritized heavily is the phone of Casey Becker. Another thing that gets prioritized is the house such as the doors, the kitchen, the stove. - What connotations do these images carry? The phone shows a mysterious voice that keeps on dialing her. The stranger continuously asks odd questions that begin to get intimidating. The movie uses the phone as a way to scare the viewer as the ringing continues. The movie also displays many parts of the house to make the viewer believe there is a mysterious danger lurking in a place meant to be safe. - How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?  For my Commerical Project, I will work alone. I think its the best way to go for me because I'm not really trusting of other people because I have no actual clue if they'll do the work or not and in the past I've had lots of issues with people not completing what they're supposed to be doing even with my friends. I can't really rely on others so that's why I'm holding full responsibility for this project. Working alone isn't terrible either, on the bright side I won't have to nudge people into doing their work until they get annoyed with me because I hate being a bother to others as well. Being independent also means this project will be my own unique thoughts without interference. I like working out ideas by myself although critique is necessary I want this project to be my own authentic piece and my own authentic ideas. Having other people's ideas doesn't really make this my own and I may not like what others come up with so I trust myself...
